ORACLE
the monolith answers · nothing else
Zilon Muzk does not give interviews. In the spring of 2031 he put a black monolith into a four-hundred-kilometre orbit, said nothing about it, and went quiet.
It answers. Point a specimen at it and back comes RESONANT or SILENT. It has never explained itself and has never contradicted itself. Something in there is applying a law, perfectly and without comment.
A specimen is one to five glyphs. A glyph is a hue and a mass: C crimson, A azure, G gold, at mass 1, 2 or 3. So C2 A1 G3 is a specimen.
When you believe you have the law, call the trial — and the monolith will pick eight specimens built to catch a theory that is merely close.
